With the holidays quickly approaching, families will be gathering for food, fun and laughter. But in some households there will also be an increasing or new concern about the health of some members of the older generation.
That concern about the health and safety of an older family member brings stress for everyone. And, some feel that tackling the issue during holiday dinner is the right thing to do. Probably not, say the experts.
Be aware of changes in behavior and habits, but recognize that the family dinner table is not the right time to discuss long term care and assisted living and nursing home and memory loss - or whatever the concern might be.
